Source Antibody: A rabbit polyclonal antibody for capture and a monoclonal
antibody for detection.
Test Format: DAS ELISA
Reactivity: This test system reacted with all MWV-2 isolates tested. Reaction of the ELISA is very strong. Optical Density at 405nm is in a range of 1.300 - > 3.200 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is very high. The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant leaf tissues diluted at 1:810 - 1:2430. This test can be used to detect WMV-2 in seeds.
Specificity: There is no cross reaction with healthy plant tissues. Background is very low on all of the negative control wells.
Application: The test can be used to detect WMV-2 in infected host plant tissues and seeds.

Viral Particle: Filamentous particles, containing RNA genome.
Virus Infection: Watermelon mosaic virus - 2 (WMV-2) infects
many different plants, including cucurbits, leguminous, and various
ornamentals. WMV-s induces mosaic and mottle symptoms on cantaloupe,
cucumber, pea, pumpkin, squash, and watermelon.
