Test Format: DAS ELISA
Reactivity: This test system reacted with all of the isolates of PnMV tested. Reaction of the ELISA is very strong. Optical Density at 405nm is in a range of 2.000 - >3.000 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is very high. The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted at 1:2430.
Specificity: There is no cross reaction found with healthy poinsettia tissues. Background is very low on the negative control wells.
Application: The test can be used to detect PnMV in infected poinsettia plants.

Virus Particle:
Virus Infection: Poinsettia mosaic virus (PnMV) naturally infects
poinsettia only. The infection of poinsettia plant is usually very
high, up to 100 percent in some poinsettia crops. Although PnMV can cause
mosaic symptoms on leaves of infected plants, it often produces no visible
symptoms especially under high temperature conditions.
