Source Antibody: A rabbit polyclonal antibody for capture and a
monoclonal antibody for detection.
Test Format: TAS ELISA
Reactivity: This test system reacted with all isolates or strains of AMV tested. Reaction of the ELISA is very strong. Optical Density at 405nm is in arrange of 1.200 - >3.000 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is very high. The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant leaf tissues diluted at 1:2430.
Specificity: There is no cross reaction with healthy plant tissues. Background is very low on all of the negative control wells.
Application: The test can be used to detect AMV in infected host plants.

Information About the Virus
Name: Alfalfa Mosaic Virus
Acronym: AMV
Synonyms: , Alfalfa virus 1 and 2, Lucerne mosaic virus,
Marmor medicaginis.
Group/Genus: Alfamoviruses
Vector: Aphids in non-persistent manner.
Transmission: Mechanical, seed.
Main host plants: Many different hosts.
Viral Particle: Bacilliform particles with different lengths,
containing RNA genome
Virus Infection: Alfalfa mosaic virus (AMV) infects many different
plants including herbaceous and some woody hosts. The most common symptoms
of viral infection are mosaic, mottle, necrosis, and stunting. Sometimes,
AMV infections can also be symptomless. AMV is common in most countries
throughout of the world.
