Source Antibody: Rabbit polyclonal antibody for both capture and
detection.
Test Format: DAS ELISA
Reactivity: The test reacted with all TYMV isolates tested. Reaction of the ELISA is moderate strong. Optical Density at 405nm is in arrange of 0.600 - 2.800 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is high. The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted at 1:810 - 1:2430.
Specificity: There is no cross reaction with healthy plant tissues such as turnip and other host plants. Background is very low on all of the negative control wells.
Application: The test can be used to detect TYMV in infected host plants.

Name: Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus
Acronym: TYMV
Synonyms: cardamine yellow mosaic virus
Group/Genus: Tymoviruses
Vector: Transmitted by a vector; an insect; Phyllotreta and
Psylloides species (flea beetles) and Phaedon cochleariae (the
mustard beetle) in Europe and Pedilophorus sp in Australia; Coleoptera.
Transmission: Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation;
transmitted by grafting; transmitted by seed (of Camelina sativa (Hein,
1984)); not transmitted by pollen.
Main host plants: Brassica spp. and many Brassicaceae,
Cardamine lilaciana sward forming variant.
Virus Infection: Cause symptoms of vein clearing and mosaic
or blotching symptoms.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms: Brassica campestris
ssp. pekinensis, Raphanus sativus - vein clearing and mosaic or
blotching.
Geographical distribution: Spreads in the Eurasian region (in the north west); Australia.
