Catalog #:  V163
Source Antibody:  Rabbit polyclonal antibody for both capture and detection.
Test Format:  DAS ELISA

Reactivity:  The test reacted with all TNDV isolates tested. Reaction of the ELISA is moderate strong.  Optical Density at 405nm  is in arrange of 0.800 - >2.850 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.

Sensitivity:  Sensitivity of the ELISA is high.  The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted  at 1:810 - 1:2430.

Specificity:  There is no cross reaction with healthy plant  tissues such as tobacco or other host plants. Background is low on all of  the negative control wells.

Application:  The test can be used to detect TNDV in infected host plants.

Acronym:  TNDV
Synonyms:
Group/Genus:  Luteovirus

Vector:  Transmitted by a vector; an insect; Myzus persicae; Aphididae. Transmitted in a persistent manner. Virus retained when the vector moults; does not multiply in the vector; not transmitted congenitally to the progeny of the vector.
Transmission: Virus is transmitted by grafting; not transmitted by contact between plants; not transmitted by seed; not transmitted by pollen.
Main natural host plants: Spinacia oleracea, Nicotiana tabacum, Capsella bursa-pastoris.

Virus Infection:  Symptoms include clear vein yellowing, interveinal leaf chlorosis, veinal necrosis, severe stunting,  interveinal reddening, stunting. Symptoms persist.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms: Capsella bursa-pastoris, Datura stramonium, Nicotiana sylvestris, N. tabacum - systemic interveinal chlorosis, veinal necrosis, stunting; Physalis floridana - systemic interveinal chlorosis, leaf rolling; Montia perfoliata - mild systemic interveinal chlorosis.

Geographical distribution: Spreads in Japan.
