Reactivity:  This test system reacted with all of the isolates of PepMV tested.  Reaction of the ELISA is moderately strong.  Optical Density at 405_nm is in a range of 0.700 - 1.500 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.

Sensitivity:  Sensitivity of the ELISA is relatively high.  The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted at 1:810 - 1:2430.

Specificity:  This test system is no cross-reaction with other potexviruses such as CyMV, PapMV, PAMV, or PVX .  There is no cross reaction found with healthy tissues of tomato or pepper.  Background is low on the negative control wells including buffer well.

Application:  The test can be used to detect PepMV in infected host plants.
