Catalog #: V154
Source Antibody: A rabbit polyclonal antibody for capture and and a
monoclonal antibody as detection.
Test Format: TAS ELISA
Reactivity: The test reacted with all PDV isolates tested.
Reaction of the ELISA is very strong. Optical Density at 405nm
is in arrange of 0.900 - >3.000 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is high.
The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted
at 1:2430.
Specificity: There is no cross reaction with healthy plant
tissues such as peach, plum, apricot, or other host plants. Background is
very low on all of the
negative control wells.
Application: The test can be used to detect PDV in infected
host plant tissues.

Information About the Virus
Name: Prune Dwarf Virus
Acronym: PDV
Synonyms:
Group/Genus: Ilarvirus
Vector: Transmitted by means not involving a vector.
Transmission: Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation;
transmitted by grafting; not transmitted by contact between plants; transmitted
by seed (to 10% in Prunus cerasus); transmitted by pollen to the seed and
transmitted by pollen to the pollinated plant.
Main natural host plants: VPrunus domestica, Prunus cerasus,
Prunus persica.
Virus Infection: Symptoms by viral infection include
leathery, strap-like leaves, leaf yellowing and abscission, stunting. Symptoms
persist.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms: Cucumis sativus
- small chlorotic local lesions; systemic mosaic; Sesbania exaltata
- small dark local lesions in cotyledons; not systemic, Momordica balsamina
- chlorotic local lesions; systemic mottle, Tithonia speciosa - prominent
chlorotic lines and rings.
Geographical distribution: Probably
distributed worldwide.
