Source Antibody: Rabbit polyclonal antibody for both capture and
detection.
Test Format: DAS ELISA
Reactivity: This test system reacted with all virus isolates tested. Reaction of the ELISA is moderate. Optical Density at 405nm is in arrange of 0.700 - 1.200 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is relatively high. The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted at 1:270 - 1:810.
Specificity: There is no obvious cross reaction with healthy plant tissues. Background is low on the negative control wells incubated with healthy plant sample or sample buffer.
Application: The test can be used to detect PAMV in infected host plants.

Main host plants: Solanum tuberosum - chlorotic local
lesions on older leaves, necrotic on younger, systemic (top) necrosis (Clinch,
1941). Stored tubers develop necrosis in the cortex and pith with irregular
brown or sunken patches on the surface
