Catalog #: V153
Source Antibody: Rabbit polyclonal antibody for both capture and
detection.
Test Format: DAS ELISA
Reactivity: The test reacted with all HCRSV isolates tested.
Reaction of the ELISA is moderate strong. Optical Density at 405nm
is in arrange of 0.800 - >2.600 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is moderate high.
The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted
at 1:810.
Specificity: There is no cross reaction with healthy plant
tissues such as hibiscus, or other host plants. Background is
relative low on all of the
negative control wells.
Application: The test can be used to detect HCRSV in infected
host plant tissues.

Acronym: HCRSV
Synonyms:
Group/Genus: Carmovirus
Vector: Transmitted by means not involving a vector.
Transmission: Transmitted by mechanical inoculation.
Main natural host plants: Hibiscus rosa-sinensis; Abelmoschus
manihot.
Virus Infection: Symptoms by viral infection include
mottling or chlorotic spots, rings, vein-banding or mosaic, very variable.
Symptoms persist.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms: Chenopodium
quinoa - chlorotic local lesions, not systemic; Cyamopsis tetragonoloba,
Gossypium hirsutum, Vigna unguiculata ssp. cylindrica - necrotic
local lesions, not systemic; Hibiscus cannabinus (kenaf) - ringspots,
local lesions, then systemic mottle; Phaseolus vulgaris cv. Pinto - small
local lesions, not systemic.
Geographical distribution: Spreads in
Australia, El Salvador, Fiji, the Solomon Islands, Thailand, and the USA.
