Source Antibody: A rabbit polyclonal antibody for capture and and a
monoclonal antibody as detection.
Test Format: TAS ELISA
Reactivity: The test reacted with all GFkV isolates tested. Reaction of the ELISA is moderate strong. Optical Density at 405nm is in arrange of 0.410 - >2.300 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is moderate high. The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted at 1:10 -1:270.
Specificity: There is no cross reaction with healthy plant tissues such as grapevine or other host plants. Background is low on all of the negative control wells.
Application: The test can be used to detect GFkV in infected grapevine host plant tissues.

Name: Grapevine Fleck Virus
Acronym: GFkV
Synonyms: grapevine marbrure virus (Vuittenez et al., 1966),
grapevine phloem-limited isometric virus (Boulila et al., 1990).

Vector:
Transmission: Virus not transmitted by mechanical inoculation;
transmitted by grafting.
Main natural host plants: Vitis vinifera.
Virus Infection Symptoms: symptomless infection in most
European cultivars and American Vitis species and their hybrids.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms: Vitis rupestris
- scattered clearing of veinlets and leaf deformation with severe strains.
Geographical distribution: Spreads in South Africa. Found in European countries and the U.S.A.
