Source Antibody: Rabbit polyclonal antibody for both capture and
detection.
Test Format: DAS ELISA
Reactivity: The test reacted with all FrMV isolates tested. Reaction of the ELISA is moderate strong. Optical Density at 405nm is in arrange of 0.750 - 2.850 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is moderate high. The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted at 1:810.
Specificity: This test system reacts negatively with tobamoviruses such as CGMMV, KGMMV, ORSV, PMMoV, RMV, SHMV, TMV and ToMV. There is no cross reaction with healthy plant tissues such as rice and other host plants. Background is relative low on all of the negative control wells.
Application: The test can be used to detect FrMV in infected host plants.

Information About the Virus
Name: Frangipani Mosaic Virus
Acronym: FrMV
Synonyms: temple tree mosaic virus, champa mosaic virus.
Group/Genus: Tobamovirus
Vector: Transmitted by means not involving a vector.
Transmission: Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation.
Main host plants: Plumeria acutifolia, P. alba
Virus Infection: Symptoms persist. mosaic, ringspots, vein banding,
bronzing. ringspots, leaf malformation, necrosis.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms: Datura stramonium
- chlorotic or black necrotic local lesions; most strains not systemic.
Nicotiana glutinosa - chlorotic local lesions, not systemic. Nicotiana
tabacum cvs Samsun, Virginia Gold, White Burley - chlorotic or necrotic
ringspots, then systemically when grown at 35ēC. Nicotiana × edwardsonii
- faint chlorotic lesions which become necrotic when plants are grown at 35ēC.
Not systemic.
