Source Antibody: Rabbit polyclonal antibody for both capture and
detection.
Test Format: DAS ELISA
Reactivity: The test reacted with all FNSV isolates tested. Reaction of the ELISA is strong. Optical Density at 405nm is in arrange of 0.910 - 2.920 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is high. The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted at 1:810 - 1:2430.
Specificity: There is no cross reaction with healthy plant tissues. Background is low on all of the negative control wells in the ELISA.
Application: The test can be used to detect FNSV in infected host plants.

Vector: The virus may have a soil-inhabiting vector. Not transmitted by
Planococcus citri, Saissetia caffea.
Transmission: Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation;
transmitted by grafting.
Main natural host plants: Furcraea spp., Yucca spp.
Virus Infection: Causes chlorotic and then necrotic streaks. Symptoms
persist.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms: Agave spp. -
reddish streaks, necrosis; Furcraea spp. - chlorotic and necrotic
streaking.
