Dogwood Mosaic Virus (DMV) - DAS ELISA Home Products Testing Services Supplies Contact Us
Catalog #: V190
Source Antibody: Rabbit polyclonal antibody for both capture and
detection.
Test Format: DAS ELISA
Reactivity: The test reacted with all DMV isolates tested. Reaction of the ELISA is moderate strong. Optical Density at 405nm is in arrange of 0.800 - 2.700 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is moderate high. The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted at 1:810.
Specificity: There is no cross reaction with healthy plant tissues such as rice and other host plants. Background is relative low on all of the negative control wells.
Application: The test can be used to detect DMV in infected host plants.

Information About the Virus
Name: Dogwood Mosaic Virus
Acronym: DMV
Synonyms: arabis mosaic virus (first considered to be a strain of this
virus, but now thought to be a separate viral species; Barnett, 1981; Barnett
and Baxter, 1976; Handley and Barnett, 1951; Reddick et al., 1980).
Group/Genus: Nepovirus
Vector: Not transmitted by Xiphinema diversicaudatum.
Transmission: Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation; transmitted by
grafting.
Main host plants: Cornus florida
Virus Infection: Symptoms vary seasonally. Symptoms mosaic. Cornus
florida - symptomless or mottling or mosaic.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms: Chenopodium
amaranticolor - chlorotic local lesions, then systemic chlorotic spots, line
patterns, mosaic. C. quinoa - chlorotic local lesions becoming necrotic,
then systemic mosaic and tip necrosis. Vigna unguiculata ssp.
unguiculata, Lupinus albus - chlorotic ringspots and systemic mosaic.
Pisum sativum - chlorotic local lesions, then systemic mosaic. Torenia
fournieri - systemic chlorosis and veinal necrosis. Nicotiana
occidentalis - local lesions; systemic mosaic. N. tabacum - chlorotic
local lesions, then systemic in some cultivars. Petunia × hybrida -
necrotic ringspots; systemic necrotic spots. Lactuca sativa - systemic
mosaic.
