Catalog #: V173
Source Antibody: A rabbit polyclonal antibody for capture
and and a monoclonal antibody as detection.
Test Format: TAS ELISA
Reactivity: Reaction of the ELISA is
very strong. Optical Density at 405nm
is in a range of 2.300 - >3.000 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is
very high. The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant
tissues diluted at 1:2430.
Specificity: This test system has no cross
reaction with healthy plant tissues such as carnation and other host
plants. Background is very low on all of the negative control wells.
Application: The test can be used to detect ArMV in any common
host plants.

Information About the Virus
Name: Carnation Latent Virus
Acronym: CLV
Synonyms: dulcamara A virus, dulcamara B virus (Phillips and Brunt, 1981)
Group/Genus: Carlavirus
Vector: Transmitted by a vector; an insect; Myzus persicae;
Aphididae. Transmitted in a non-persistent manner.
Transmission: Virus transmitted by mechanical inoculation (but
sometimes is difficult to transmit from carnation because its sap contains
inhibitors of infection); not transmitted by contact between plants; not
transmitted by seed.
Main natural host plants: Dianthus caryophyllus.
Virus Infection: Symptoms may be mild or no symptoms.
Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms: Chenopodium
amaranticolor, C. quinoa - small chlorotic local lesions; systemic
mottle.
Geographical distribution: Probably
distributed worldwide (wherever carnations are grown).
